I

State media

International news

EldoriaNews

Aldara

An international news network under state control, aimed at foreign audiences. It carries the Eldorian message beyond the country’s borders, modelled on the major international public news channels. The country’s name is deliberately retained: it serves as a showcase for the regime.

Radio and television

RTN — National Radio and Television

Aldara

All public radio and television channels aimed at the domestic market: news, cultural programmes, sports broadcasts and national ceremonies.

Press agency

ACP — Central Press Agency

Aldara

Official news agency. It distributes news dispatches and press releases from public bodies, and supplies news to all the country’s newsrooms, both public and private.

II

Private media

General-interest daily newspaper

Le Courrier du Bosphore

Istanbul

A major national general-interest daily newspaper, based in Istanbul on the banks of the Bosphorus, which was retained in 2016. The leading publication in the private press.

Business daily

Golfe Finance

Kuwait City

A business daily based in Kuwait City, at the heart of the special economic zone established in 1965: the country’s most liberal financial centre is also home to its business press.

Television

Canal Levant

Aleppo

A private television channel offering entertainment and news, based in Aleppo, a key link between the city and the eastern Mediterranean.

III

Network and access

An independent national network

Since , the Eldorian internet has been based on an infrastructure that is entirely independent of Western networks. In 2018, the Kavir network covered 97% of the territory, connected to France and Japan via dedicated submarine cables, and utilised the Orbalis civilian satellite constellation.

Online research is carried out by Ilmar – formerly EldoriaScience – the country’s only major wholly privately-owned company.
